Shadow of Exhibition

2020 / Conceptual Photography

This project consists of a series of still images taken in the Metropolitan Museum and the Museum of Modern Art.

The pictures focus on the shadows created by the lighting conditions and the position of the exhibits instead of the exhibits themselves. During my creation of the project, I was strongly inspired by the works of Edward Ruscha, but it also has meant going back as far as the Allegory of the Cave by Plato. I am committed to the search for avenues of the unexpected and neglected in my productions. This project especially underscores the need to remind viewers at every occasion of the importance of philosophy and discourse in our understanding of contemporary art.
